Orbi Writing
Terms of Use
Last updated: 1 July 2026
Welcome to Orbi Writing. Orbi Writing is an independent writing feedback tool that helps parents and students understand composition writing more clearly. By using Orbi Writing, you agree to these Terms of Use.
1. What Orbi Writing does
Orbi Writing helps users upload a composition and receive writing feedback.
Orbi may provide a score estimate, teacher-style feedback, writing strengths, areas to improve, grammar, spelling and punctuation feedback, What–How–Why™ diagnostic feedback, an improved paragraph, a rewrite challenge and suggested next steps for writing practice.
Orbi is designed to support home revision and writing practice.
2. Orbi is an independent tool
Orbi Writing is an independent writing feedback tool.
It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by MOE, SEAB, any school, or any examination body.
Orbi is built around PSLE-style expectations, common upper-primary composition feedback patterns, and teacher judgement.
The marking system was developed by a creative writing teacher with more than 10 years of experience working with PSLE-level students, so the feedback is designed to be clear, practical and suitable for home revision.
Orbi feedback should be used as guidance, not as official school marking.
3. Orbi does not replace a teacher
Orbi does not replace a teacher, tutor, school marker or professional educator.
Orbi helps make writing feedback clearer and easier to understand. It supports revision by showing what is working, what needs attention, and what to practise next.
Final judgement on a child's writing may differ depending on the teacher, school, examination context, marking expectations and question requirements.
4. Use by parents and students
Orbi Writing is intended to be used by parents, guardians, students, educators and tutors for writing feedback and revision support.
If a child uses Orbi, the child should do so with the knowledge and permission of a parent or guardian.
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising how children use Orbi and what information is uploaded.
Users should avoid uploading personal, sensitive or unnecessary information about a child or another person.
5. User responsibility
When using Orbi, you agree to provide accurate information where possible, including the composition title, student level, picture prompts or question details, source of the composition and clear uploaded images or documents.
The quality of Orbi's feedback depends partly on the quality of the uploaded work and the accuracy of the information provided.
If handwriting is unclear or the transcription is incorrect, the feedback may be less accurate. Users should check the OCR transcription before submitting the composition for feedback.
6. Personal data and PDPA
Orbi Writing is based in Singapore and aims to handle personal data in line with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012.
By using Orbi, you agree that Orbi may collect, use and store the information needed to provide the service, including uploaded compositions, transcription text, report content, account details if accounts are used, waitlist entries, contact form submissions, share report activity and basic usage information.
Orbi may use this information to create writing reports, provide access to saved reports if available, manage Free Early Access usage and waitlist signups, respond to contact form messages, improve the product and report quality, and protect the security and proper use of the service.
Orbi does not sell personal data to advertisers. More details will be set out in Orbi's Privacy Policy.
7. Copyrighted school papers and worksheets
You may upload your child's own composition for feedback.
Please do not upload, copy, distribute or publicly share copyrighted materials that you do not have permission to use. This includes full school exam papers, tuition centre worksheets, copyrighted question papers, model answers, paid teaching materials, and materials from books or commercial resources.
If your child's composition was based on a school or tuition question, please enter only the details Orbi needs, such as title, level, picture prompt description and source type.
Do not upload or publicly share the full copyrighted paper unless you have the right to do so.
8. Singapore copyright and third-party materials
Users are responsible for making sure they have the right to upload or share any material submitted to Orbi.
Singapore copyright law protects original works, including written materials, worksheets, exam papers, teaching resources and other educational content.
Please do not upload, copy, distribute, publish or publicly share copyrighted school papers, tuition worksheets, model answers, books, paid resources or other third-party materials unless you have permission or a legal right to do so.
If your child's composition is based on a school or tuition question, please provide only the details Orbi needs, such as the title, level, source type and a short description of the picture prompts.
9. Uploaded compositions and user content
You remain responsible for the content you upload to Orbi.
By uploading content, you confirm that you have the right to use that content for the purpose of receiving feedback.
You should not upload unlawful, harmful or abusive content, private information about another person, copyrighted material you do not have permission to use, or content that you do not have the right to upload.
Orbi may remove, restrict or disable access to content if it appears to breach these Terms or create legal, safety or privacy concerns.
10. Privacy and shared reports
Private reports are intended for the user who created them.
If you choose to share a report, Orbi creates an anonymised report link.
Shared reports are designed to hide student names, parent names, email addresses, school names, uploaded handwriting images, private account information and report history.
Shared reports are meant to show feedback, score, next steps and writing growth without exposing private details.
You should still avoid entering personal or sensitive details into composition titles, prompt descriptions or uploaded work.
11. Use of Orbi reports
Parents and students may use Orbi reports for personal learning, home revision and writing practice.
You may share an anonymised report with your child's tutor, teacher or family member to discuss the feedback.
You may not copy, resell, repackage or present Orbi reports as your own teaching product, school product, tuition centre material, commercial report or branded service without permission.
12. What–How–Why™ Framework and Orbi materials
What–How–Why™ is part of Orbi Writing's teaching approach and brand.
Orbi's framework, report structure, learning cards, examples, practice missions, writing prompts, wording and teaching materials belong to Orbi Writing.
Parents and students may use these materials for personal learning and revision.
You may not copy, reproduce, package, sell, resell, distribute, publish or present Orbi's framework, report structure, learning materials or examples as your own.
Educators, tutors and tuition centres interested in using Orbi for students, marking support or parent reports should contact Orbi for permission or collaboration.
13. Accuracy of feedback
Orbi aims to provide helpful and practical writing feedback.
However, Orbi feedback may not always be perfect, complete or the same as a school teacher's feedback.
Scores, bands, comments and suggestions are estimates for learning and revision purposes.
Orbi does not guarantee a specific school mark, PSLE score, exam improvement, admission result, teacher agreement with every comment or error-free feedback.
Users should treat Orbi as a learning support tool.
14. Free Early Access use
Orbi Writing may be offered as Free Early Access while the experience is being refined for parents and students.
During Free Early Access, features may change, be added, be removed or be limited.
Reports, sharing, storage, waitlist features and Orbi Plus previews may be adjusted as the product develops.
Using Orbi during Free Early Access means you understand that the experience is still being improved.
15. Future paid features
Orbi Plus and other paid features may be introduced later.
Orbi Plus may include features such as saved reports, report history, print-anytime access, learning cards, writing bank, weekly composition titles, practice missions and progress tracking.
Some features may be marked as coming soon and may not be available immediately.
Orbi may change, add, remove or adjust free and paid features over time.
Before any paid subscription or payment is collected, Orbi will provide relevant pricing, billing, cancellation and subscription terms.
During Free Early Access, no payment terms apply unless a paid feature is clearly offered and accepted.
16. Accounts and access
Some Orbi features may require an account.
You are responsible for keeping your account details safe.
You should not share your login details with others.
Orbi may limit, suspend or remove access if an account is misused, used to breach these Terms, or used in a way that may harm the service or other users.
17. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse Orbi.
You should not attempt to hack, damage or disrupt the service, copy or scrape Orbi content, reports or teaching materials, use Orbi to create competing products using Orbi's materials, upload content you do not have permission to use, use Orbi for unlawful, harmful or abusive purposes, try to access another user's private reports or account, or remove branding or ownership notices from shared reports.
18. Educators and tuition centres
Teachers, tutors and tuition centres may use Orbi to understand how writing feedback can be made clearer and easier for students to act on.
However, Orbi's reports, framework, learning cards, writing prompts and teaching materials should not be copied, resold, repackaged or used as another centre's branded materials without permission.
If you are interested in using Orbi for your students, centre, marking workflow or parent reports, please contact Orbi.
19. Changes to Orbi
Orbi may update, improve, limit or remove parts of the service at any time.
This may include changes to report format, scoring approach, free usage limits, paid features, sharing features, account features, admin features, writing frameworks and learning materials.
We may also update these Terms from time to time. The latest version of the Terms will be shown on this page.
20. Limitation of responsibility
Orbi is provided as a learning support tool.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Orbi is not responsible for losses, claims or issues arising from reliance on Orbi feedback as official marking, differences between Orbi feedback and school feedback, incorrect or unclear user uploads, copyrighted materials uploaded by users, user sharing of private or sensitive information, or interruptions, errors or temporary unavailability of the service.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
21. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
If there is any dispute relating to these Terms or the use of Orbi Writing, the parties agree to first try to resolve the matter in good faith.
If the matter cannot be resolved, it will be subject to the courts of Singapore, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
